I genuinely think this place serves the absolute best fish and chips you can get in our wonderful Curlewis. The owner is always so friendly and welcoming, and I always enjoy seeing them sporting their distinctive Homer Simpson hat.

Having explored all the options in Drysdale, I can confidently state that their burger and Flake are the absolute best compared to any other establishment in the region.

It's fantastic to see this place finally open its doors! For our first visit, we ordered the flake, chips, and some South Melbourne dim sims, and everything was cooked extremely well and drained properly. The flake was particularly fresh and very tasty. Our only minor criticism would be a slightly heavy hand with the salt, but otherwise, the meal was truly fantastic. We're convinced this is the best fish and chip shop in the entire Curlewis, Clifton Springs, and Drysdale area, and we absolutely cannot wait to try their burgers and souvlakis next time.

My recent visit left me utterly dismayed; I was charged an astonishing $12.50 for a basic burger consisting only of bread, a patty, and cheese, intended for my three-year-old. When I politely inquired why this simple order was priced the same as a full burger, the staff member's response was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He claimed he had to 'undo' a pre-made burger, implying extra effort was involved in removing ingredients. This meant my child's burger, with its minimal components, ended up costing more than my own, simply because they had to take out the extras! It truly made me question their preparation methods, as I had always assumed they made items fresh, not from pre-assembled components, and I wonder how many other customers are aware of this practice. I will absolutely never be returning to this establishment. It's evident they are primarily driven by profit rather than genuinely providing acceptable food or fair value. Their prices are certainly not 'cheap as chips,' and they are far from a gourmet fish and chips shop. Furthermore, they handle genuine customer complaints very poorly. I sincerely hope others become aware of their practices.

Our initial visit introduced us to their fish and chips, which we quickly deemed the finest in the entire district. Since then, I've returned to sample two of their burgers, specifically the tropical burger and the Big grill burger, and I can confidently say they are the best burgers I've personally tasted. Keep up the fantastic standard!

This establishment truly impressed us with its pristine cleanliness. The chips, in particular, were a highlight – perfectly cooked, incredibly delicious, and notably free from excess oil, thoughtfully presented in a cardboard box and paper bag. We found the menu to be very fairly priced, complemented by truly excellent service. Without a doubt, we'll be making a return visit. It's a wonderful new addition to the shopping centre, and we believe it's something the local community will genuinely enjoy.

After a long day of gardening, we decided to treat ourselves to some takeaway, but what we received was far from a treat; it was an absolute disaster. The person at the till seemed to struggle with basic comprehension when I tried to inquire about the fish sizes and types for the bites, forcing me to repeat my questions four times. Our order of one flake, two fish bites, two scallops, two prawn cutlets, and a small chips came to a surprising $32.50 after a noticeable delay in calculating the total. Despite the price, I was starving and waited the estimated 15 minutes for our order, though it was curious to note that there was only one other customer waiting, and the phone hadn't rung with any orders during that time. The price still felt quite steep, but upon opening the package at home, we were horrified. Having worked in hospitals and owned a hotel, I immediately recognized the tell-tale signs of tired oil; the chips were overcooked and unsalted, the fish bites were inexplicably the same size as the $7.50 flake, and the batter was completely inedible. The prawn cutlets were also overcooked, though I must admit the scallops were decent. We ended up peeling the fish from its terrible batter and half-heartedly pushing the chips around our plates, feeling both very hungry and deeply disappointed. The inedible batter and most of the chips from our plates went straight into the bin, along with the remaining chips and a fish bite still in the package. Feeling utterly cross and annoyed, I returned to the shop with the remnants of our order. The manager asked how he could help, and I expressed my absolute disappointment, detailing the lack of flavor, poor quantity control, and the clear use of dead oil, which resulted in such terrible quality food, demanding a full refund. The manager refused, stating we had eaten "a lot" of the order – a point I regret not being able to fully dispute by bringing back everything from our bin, as he clearly had no intention of refunding a cent. Eventually, I left with a mere $10.00, feeling completely unsatisfied and vowing never to return; the experience was marked by terrible food and equally terrible customer service.

My partner and I recently grabbed a meal from this spot, and while the burger was quite enjoyable with a genuinely tasty patty, the rest of our order was a bit disappointing. The fish had a distinctly odd aftertaste, making it clear it wasn't fresh, and the chips were noticeably greasy. On top of that, we ended up waiting around half an hour for our food.
